Maria do Céu Fialho is Full Professor at the Institute of Classical Studies, University of Coimbra. She obtained her PhD at the University of Coimbra, in the area of ancient Greek tragedy (Light and Shadows in Sophocles’ Theatre). She has written extensively on Greek literature and on poetics and hermeneutics. She has translated several works into Portuguese, with particular attention given to Sophocles and Plutarch. She also has a deep interest in the reception of classics in Portuguese contemporary literature.

Delfim Ferreira Leão is Full Professor at the Institute of Classical Studies and a researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies, University of Coimbra. His main areas of interest are ancient history, law and political theory of the Greeks, theatrical pragmatics, and the ancient novel. He also has a strong interest in digital humanities. Among his main recent works are D. F. Leão and P. J. Rhodes, The Laws of Solon. A new Edition, with Introduction, Translation and Commentary (London, I. B. Tauris, 2015), and a second revised edition in 2016; D. F. Leão and G. Thür (Hrsg.) Symposion 2015. Vorträge zur griechischen und hellenistischen Rechtsgeschichte (Wien, Verlag der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, 2016). Along with Lautaro R. Lanzillotta, he is the editor of Brill’s Plutarch Studies.

Carmen Soares is an Associate Professor of the University of Coimbra (Faculty of Arts and Humanities) and a member of the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies of the same university. Teaching activities, research interests and publications include classics, ancient Greek history and food history. She is the author of several books and papers and the translator into Portuguese of Herodotus’ Histories (books V and VIII), Euripides (Cyclops), Plato (Statesman), Plutarch (On Affection for Offspring) and Archestratus (Life of Pleasures).

José Luís Lopes Brandão is Associate Professor at the Institute of Classical Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies. He is devoted to the study of the Latin language, culture and literature (epigram, Roman novel, biography, historiography) as well as the history of Rome. Among the authors who he has studied are Martial, Suetonius, Historia Augusta and Plutarch, on which he published several studies and translations. As far as classical theatre is concerned, he has worked in the translation and dramatic production in the theatre group Thíasos and coordinates the Festival of Classical Theatre (FESTEA).

Elisabete Cação is a PhD student at the University of Coimbra. For her Masters Degree, she translated into Portuguese the two first Philippics of Demosthenes. On her PhD thesis she prepares a new edition of the Aeschinean speech Against Ctesiphon. She participated in national and internacional congresses and has published on the reception of Demosthenes in Portugal and on Aeschines' and Demosthenes' politics. She has also been involved in the production of plays by the Associação Cultural Thíasos.

Executive Comission
Ana Laura Martins is currently finishing her Inter-Univerisity Master's degree in Military History at the Universities of Coimbra and Lisbon. Her dissertation focuses on the armies of Charlemagne, its military organization and the impact of the administrative reforms on their successes. She has published an article related to war correspondence and has participated in one international conference. She is a member of the Iberian Association of Military History.

João Pedro Gomes
With a Bachelor in Archeology and Master Degree in Art History from the University of Coimbra, he’s a PhD student in the program "Food Heritage: Cultures and Identities" in the same institution, with a PhD scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) concerning his PhD project "Portuguese Confectionary. Origins of the Portuguese food heritage (16th to 18th centuries)” (SFRH/BD/129185/2017). He’s a Non-PhD Integrated Researcher of the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra (CECH-IC) and associated with the research project "DIAITA: Lusophony Food Heritage" where develops research in the areas of material culture associated with table and kitchen, culinary/ gastronomic literature, as well as social and cultural practices in food context, with special focus on the Portuguese Modern Age.

Teresa Nunes is a Master student at Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. Her master's thesis focuses on the reception of the Pygmalion’s myth in contemporary cinema. Among her areas of interest are Classical Reception, Feminist and Gender Studies and Film Theory. She participated in the international congresses The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in the Reception of the Ancient World (AMPRAW) 2018 and Reconceptualizing Civic Rights and Democracy.
