Rosa María Cid López is a Professor of Ancient History at the University of Oviedo, coordinator of the Research Group, Demeter, Maternity, Gender and Family of the University of Oviedo, accredited by the ANEP and director of the Demeter Collection, edited by Trabe and the Publications Service of the University of Oviedo.

Her lines of research are linked to the social and cultural history of women in ancient Rome, addressing issues such as work, religion and power, as well as historiography on studies of women and / or gender, also the biographies of Livia, Octavia and Cleopatra. Special attention has been devoted to the study of mothers and motherhood, and more recently to the family, as evidenced by her work as Principal Investigator of a ministerial R&D research project, entitled, Maternity, affiliations and feelings in Greek and Roman societies of Antiquity. Alternative families and other kinship relationships outside the norm (Ref. HAR 2017-82521P).

 

Lidia González Estrada is graduated in History (2016) from the University of Oviedo, obtaining the Final Degree Award of her specialty that year and held the Interuniversity Master's Degree in History and Sciences of Antiquity (2017) taught by the Complutense University and the Autonomous University of Madrid. She is currently hired as predoctoral FPU of the Department of History of the University of Oviedo and is doing her doctoral thesis, directed by Rosa María Cid López, which is entitled "The cult of Iuno Sospita in the context of ancient Lazio. Speeches and images around the goddess". Her lines of work focus on the history of religions, especially in the Roman religion of the republican era, but her training has also led her to become interested in gender studies within Roman society, with special attention on model building moral and behavioral, through the study of exemplarity in literature and pietas within family relationships. It is part of the research group “Demeter. Maternity, Gender and Family”, coordinated by Professor Rosa María Cid López and participates in the project “Maternity, affiliations and feelings in the Greek and Roman societies of Antiquity. Alternative families and other kinship relationships outside the norm” (HAR2017-82521-P).

Julia Guantes García is a graduate in History (2016) from the University of Oviedo and completed her postgraduate studies at the Complutense University of Madrid (2017). She is currently hired with a predoctoral  scholarship (Severo Ochoa) in the ​​Ancient History area of the Department of History of the University of Oviedo, where she is developing her doctoral thesis, directed by Professor Rosa María Cid López, entitled "Women, wars and violence in the Ancient Mediterranean". Her main lines of research focus on the reinterpretation of Ancient History from a gender perspective, paying special attention to the social discourses and practices prevailing in ancient societies. She is also part of the research group "Demeter. Maternity, Gender and Family”, coordinated by Professor Rosa María Cid López and participates in the project “Maternity, affiliations and feelings in the Greek and Roman societies of Antiquity. Alternative families and other kinship relationships outside the norm” (HAR2017-82521-P).
